"MeSa" abbreviated from the combination of the names of Banoo by MeSa's Co-founders and Designers, Jen Mehrnoush Zomederis and Sahar Talebi is the creative trademark of the duo who decided to embrace design as a part of what they were destined to do. Friends and Comrades of over 15 years, the pair embarked on their journey as designers and creators of headwear in 2009. However the passion of handcrafting unique creations was instilled in them years earlier as young ladies when they put together their very first headpiece for a local talent show in Toronto. The praise and the positive response that they received as two ambitious girls moulding their vision into reality is what provided the foundation of what is the twosome's debut collection "The Republic" today.
Following the "two is better than one" philosophy in everything that they do, Jen and Sahar are strong believers of women empowerment and advocates of equality, and present their collection as a tool for change. Raised as two independent and free spirited girls in strong Persian families they value the importance of pushing boundaries and challenging the status quo. The twosome builds on their passion and their keen eye for fashion to read between the lines of what defines style. They break limitations and invite controversy to challenge the orthodox rules of conventional notions in trends just as they do in real world culture and life.
The pair draws inspiration from everything around them and each other. They strive for excellence while always remaining true to their visions. Their creations are meant to inspire women, celebrate femininity, and help overcome fears that keep them from shining in their own right, one headpiece at a time. Applying what was once eminent in headpieces and hats to what is critical to contemporary fashion today can be considered the duo's specialty.
